The Merchant Prince and his Loyal Subjects are already bustling about, preparing for the 2009 Season of the TEXAS RENAISSANCE FESTIVAL. Opening weekend is October 10th so clear your calendars! This is a special season, as we celebrate our 12th year at the Texas Renaissance Festival.
There have been many changes in New Market Village and you will be happy to know that the celebrations of eight themed weekends and Friday after Thanksgiving the 3 day Celtic Christmas celebration were such a success last year that you may partake in them again this year. With so much going on, you will not want to miss a thing - so join us October 10th through November 29th for wine, feasting, and merriment!
The King’s Feast
We will also be welcoming back Duchess Spend-a-Lot, Jean Pierre a la Mode and Olivia Moremoney for the 2009 Season. The “Feast of the Hunt” may be a manhunt, so be ready for MANLY COMPETITIONS. What happened to the French Chef?
The King’s Wine Tasting

Even now, Marsala is working on the 2009 show and carefully choosing her wine selections for you. 2009 will have only 2 reserved seatings of The Kings Wine Tasting daily at 1:00pm, 3:00pm.
The 5 PM show has been change to “The King’s Love Toast”, this will be a Toast, Tasting and Lore of Mead that will be a sold at the door event. Brides, Grooms and Lovers receiving tickets with their TRF ceremonies and the balance are sold at the door beginning at 9 AM. Each participant will receive a Mead Loving Cup made by Morrisette Pottery and tasting toast of 3 mead and romantic wines. The inaugural price is $20 at the Wine Shop.
A great Hen’s or Bachelor party can go along with that festival wedding. Or better yet, unknown to many, Marsala is ordained for marriages and has blessed many couples in New Market Village.
Beer, Beer, Beer!
Where is Lady Michelle? Why, she can be found at the Prince of Wales Pub. As the POW are the symbol of Welsh heritage, fertility and merriment, Lady Michelle and her saucy wenches offer a lot of FUN & GAMES for you Royal Beer Enthusiasts and blessings for the King’s Royal Beer Tasters.
